I had a 1977 Chevy Impala with 305V8 I bought used. A really stripped down car with A/C and manual windows, am/fm radio. Not much else. The engine had a tapping and was running horrible. I took off a valve cover and it was sludge filled. I changed the oil monthly and the tapping went away and added some trans fluid also to clean it up. All the power came back. It was a decent little engine. Moved the car very well.

Most AMC collectors believe that the 1970 rebel Machine 390 was the most powerful production car. It was on paper, but there was another Killer on the loose. The early addition 1971 401 AMX. The first 5 months of production, The 71 401 AMX came with a special Dual snorkel air lid with functional cowl induction hood, 10:1 compression pistons, Special heads with large valves, Special intake manifold, and free flow exhaust manifolds. AMC rated these beasts at 335hp. Definitely underrated.

Much appreciated since then, but at time of production the 'Forward Look' Mopars were all the rage - and Ford beat Chevrolet in sales for that model year.

Very informative video. Just one criticism. Ford never used small block and big block terms to describe their engines. Those are used by the other guy's. For instance, which Ford engine do you mean with the vague term, big block? 332, 351M, 352, 360, 361, 390, 391, 400, 406, 410, 427, 428, 429, 460? What is the deciding characteristic of an engine to be a big block Ford engine? At some point, its going to occur to you that Ford engines are not simply big or small blocks.

80-82 were the best looking of the C3 generation aside from some early ones. I think the 80 model should have come out 2 years earlier. Due to Trans am styling really having the edge. The Corvette was lacking in comparison with add on spoilers instead of the incorporated look of the 80-82. The gas mileage was the issue. The 81 automatic got a 2.87 rear axle ratio, and get this. The 4spd had a 2.72 rear axle. With that said. They still ran low 15's. The clutch fan was robbing alot of power and fuel mileage. I took my clutch fan off and hooked up an electric fan and my stock 81 4spd ran15 flat.with over 100k on it. Not bad for single cat converter and 2.72 gears. The car drove great and pulled nicely thanks to the borg warner Super t-10 with a 2.64, 1.75, 1.34, 1.00 gear spread. Imagine headers & dual exhaust and at least a 3.42 rear and low 14's with 190 L81 hp here we come

I bought a blue 1984 Monte SS in 85 with about 12,000 miles. I had to have one so bad after seeing the Nascar cars at Daytona. Went out on a limb to buy it. Kept it almost 10 years till kids warranted a family ride. Sold it just after a compete repaint and new decal graphics. Wished I still had it and my 70 Chevelle SS now.😢

The 1979 through 1985 Cadillac Eldorado was one of the most beautiful designs of the era without a doubt. Even though they shared much of their structure with the Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado, Cadillac designers and engineers definitely built a Cadillac here! I drove a 1980 Riviera. It definitely had a stiffer ride than the Eldorado. Totally different personalities. I owned a 1983, "Copper Canyon Firemist" Cadillac Eldorado with the standard cloth interior, Bose Symphony Sound, digital dash. It was Cadillac perfection in style, design, and performance. I got asked to buy it at least 2 times a week! By 1983, all of the "bugs" were worked out of the HT4100 engine. Mine ran smooth. Idling was completely silent. Cadillac had also increased horsepower to 140. That Eldorado had plenty of power and acceleration. I took two cross country drives in it and drove in a foot of snow with no problem. It was stolen out of my garage in 1992. Never found. I was so saddened. Fabulous automobile! Only had 51,000 miles on it.

"Really good plots," like the standard car chase where Rockford is tailing someone, he gets made, the subject takes off and Rockford pursues because......why? He's not a cop or a hitman. What is he going to do, exactly, if he catches them? And they aren't going to lead him to anything useful once they know they're being tailed, but yeah, GREAT plots.

It’s fun how the video states a 4.3 second 0 to 60 mph time with a forward 3/4 image of the car with original wheels and tire size. It’s very easy to imagine a standing start and a speedometer saying 60 in less than 5 seconds but very difficult for me to imagine anything outside the beyond a cloud of tire smoke and a car moving forward under 40 mph.

You rave so highly about '68 GP. Other reviewers, and sales records, show it as less loved. To me it looks very transitional, front & rear flanks not 'talking to each other' and the rear presaging '69s.

Absolutely not forgotten, this was the best of the second generation, especially '70-'71. 1970 (year i was Born) is not coincidentally the best year of muscle cars across the board. '72-'72 isn't bad either but those had reduced compression and the beginning of emissions restrictions.
